Even though the date is very faint, the fact that the only possible dates with rays are 1866 or 1867 helps in the sense that we can be certain of the date merely by the shape of the top of the last digit, where an 1866 (6) would have a curved top, versus an 1867 which would have a flat top. This is definitely an 1867, because of the flat horizontal bar in the last digit. It has darker, pitted/corroded surfaces on both sides. P
