    Description

    A nice World War II censored air mail cover sent from Esmeraldas, Ecuador to Rockford, Illinois. Franked on the reverse with Ecuador Scott #380, the 1 sucre Wrestlers stamp from 1939, #407, the 30¢ Mt. Chimborazo stamp from 1942, #C95, the 2 sucre View of the Amazon River air mail stamp from 1942, #RA49, the 5¢ postal tax stamp from 1940 and #RA53, the surcharged 5¢ on 3¢ postal tax stamp from 1943. All are tied to the cover by Esmeraldas postmarks dated June 16, 1943. Censor tape front left end "EXAMINED BY 4637". This cover measures 157mm x 88mm. See scans for condition.
