    Description

Playboy Wilton 1971 Napkin holders, 4 Original FactoryFirst Adult Conversation Piece.
______________________________________ Wilton Pewter poured early 1970, 1971. Playboy Corp. Bunny Icon 4 napkin holders. A great period of past Americana.
Seen in pic. 11, is a good example of a “rough hewn” production piece. A 1971 “beat the clock” example piece.
Ancestry serves that factory firsts were gifted before any mass production of any piece. It was a “corporate gifting” of sorts from towns but 5 miles apart.
Wilton was a young company with many young workers learning “the metal-pour trade”. These 4 pieces from the rough hewn final product at the start of what would be a 1/2 Century of future production.
Wilton Armatelle 1970-71 was the period start of a 40+ years of -solid & sought production of armatelle wares of all dining & kitchen ware. These bunnies were manufactured at the Wilton Columbia Plant 1971, the 2nd Columbia plant. (many err assuming there was only ever 1 plant in Columbia PA.), with Mountjoy production being last. From there the story continues.
The Columbia PA plant, which began 1970, initially consisted of a large number of employees from the John Wright Factory in Wrightsville, PA. (Just less 2 miles west across the Susquehanna River).
