Description
Camera sellers see a lot of old Spotmatics. What we find is usually compromised. But here is an early Spotmatic from before they added the flash shoe attachment, and it is in very good shape.
The old light meter works, I have an old test battery...but they can be found but no sold. The original battery was a 1.35 volt Mercury. Today you operate this camera with a side meter or cellphone app. Or you get an adapter.
The body leather is excellent and only 2 slight metal dimples on the prism top.
The foam seal on the door hinge is gone, so you would either replace it with a kit found here on eBay, or use some black yarn that I send to you.
Its lens is a collectible f1.4 M42 screw mount Super-Tacumar 50mm with 7 elements. People mount these M42 lenses onto their mirrorless digital cameras. The most collectible M42/f1.4 is called the 8-element, Think $$$. But most folks can't tell the difference in the photos. Most of the price I am asking is for the lens as these 7 element Tac's bring about 100+
I do shutter speed tests on old cameras ( few sellers do ) and this one is about 25% to the slow side, so you set your ISO/ASA to a higher number.
I will print some pages from the manual and tell you where to get a download.

Me: I got my first ( earlier model ) Pentax M42 in 1960, and as I did newspaper photography, I got a Kodachrome of a US President.
